shots being used in preliminary task
- close up - to get a close up shot to show emotions the characters are feeling such as happiness, stress, upset, worry, anger etc.
- medium shot- to get a view of the characters attire to show their social class also used in some shots when they are moving like walking.
- long shot - to use as a shot to see the surroundings and background environment, it will show off their entire outfit.
- tracking/dolly shot - to follow the actions made by the characters such as them walking.
- possible crane shot - get a full show of the characters attires, possibly a shot of the house or surrounding area.
Treatment for preliminary task
Opens with a long shot of a friend walking out of Raynes park station on her way to her good friends house, she needs help in revising in order to pass an upcoming test in which she very badly wants to get a good mark in. There are various shots of her walking before he takes out his phone and calls her other friend and they has a short chat in which he informs the other friend she is on the way and they must revise a specific subject. The rest of the walk is then put into fast motion with up beat music in the background as the credits roll in until the first protagonist arrives at the house and rings the doorbell and the other protagonist opens the door greeting her. There is a match on action shot of the friend walking through the door and then closing it, then a quick cut to both friends watching Netflix with the revision material infront of them being the funny side to the short film

Preliminary task
For my preliminary task I must make a short video which must include within it a conversation and a match on action shot with a door being opened.
For this I have come up with 2 ideas as our video must have some sort of story.
Idea 1: A guy gets a call from a friend saying they need a revision study, a shot of the friend entering the others house then cut to them both playing ps4 while talking about a school test.
Idea 2: A guy gets on a bus to go home, on the way he gets a call from a friend saying they need to stay over cause they have been thrown out, the friend is waiting outside the first characters house and they go in as the second character begins to explain why he has been thrown out this time.
I am going to need some people to help with the acting and filming and I will need a camera, I am also planning on using Final Cut Pro for editing.

3 point lighting
The 3 different lights:
- Key light - the most important light, it is faced towards your subject, with the others turned off it can give a serious look from the shadows the key light creates on the subject. The other lights are really there to support the key light, it should be apron 45 degrees from the subject and 45 degrees to either side of the camera.
- Fill light- It is used to fill in the shadows on the subject created by the key light, it is helpful if the shadows are too dark, the strength of the light is changed by bringing the light closer or further away from the subject.
- Back light - Used to separate the subject from the background, it makes the subject pop out more and gives them more focus, it manages to create a glow around the head and shoulders helping them stand out. The back light should be aimed at the subject above their head and behind them at a 45 degree angel towards their back.

Match on action, 180 degree rule and shot, reverse shot
180-degree rule is when the shot is
at the side of the action, but keeping within the ark of the characters. When
shooting two actors the camera must not cross the axis of action.
Shot, reverse shot is when there is
one character looking at something or someone then the reverse shot would be the camera
facing them looking at the same thing or person.
